Yep, you read that correctly: today's post is about Dumpster Pools. Specifically the dumpster pools created by Progressive Waste Solutions for an event last month in Dallas' Design District. John Gustafson, the vice president for Progressive Waste Solutions' southern central region said that "the dumpster pool was a creative, and cool, way to support an important local arts program."
I have a couple of friends that work at Progressive and I heard about these pools before they were finished and could not wait to share with all of you out there on the interweb. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make the event, but one of the planners, one of my friends at Progressive, was kind enough to share these photos.
The Dumpster pool is perhaps the most brilliant of brilliant summer ingenuities." Dallas Morning News did an article entitled “Dumpster Diving in the Design District,” and also posted pictures of the unique attraction. Dallas' NBC Channel 5 even ran coverage of the event.
