Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies

Tonight is the second night of Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies on PBS!  I'm putting up last week's post again in case you missed it.

You're getting an extra post today so that I can tell you about the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's latest venture: "The LLS is a proud supporter of Ken Burnes presents Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies, a film by Barak Goodman, a vivid account of how far we've come in the fight against cancer."

I previously mentioned that my father has worked with and been on the board for the LLS for as long as I can remember and he was very excited after seeing a preview of this film.  Ethan Zohn, a two time leukemia survivor and Survivor winner, was the speaker at the presentation that my father attended and dad said that he was great!  He was funny and personable and dad learned a lot about his charity and his life with and after leukemia.
"Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies" is a three night series on PBS beginning on March 30th with "Magic Bullets" at 8 p.m. central.*  Night two, March 31st, is "The Blind Men and the Elephant" from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. central, and night three, April 1st, is "Finding an Achilles Heel" from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. central.*
