Now, the fourth day of our Alaska trip is not yet over and I’ve saved the best for last! (And this part actually took place after the tour up to the edge of the Yukon Territory so it makes sense, but...) Our day ended wandering around a garden and glass blowing studio, Jewel Gardens!
The idea of glass in a garden makes me think of Dale Chihuly’s exhibition in the Dallas Arboretum, which was fantastic, but the Jewel Garden is a little bit more rustic which makes the glass a fun juxtaposition.
There was a glass structure surrounded by circular garden, another in a difference garden, glass bowls decorating the base of a small grove of trees, a chandelier in a garden house, an underwater paradise in a rock bed stream, and glass figurines along a model train track. It was amazing! And I could have stayed all day!
In addition to the wonderful gardens and the remarkable glass creations, there are fun signs around the Garden and I have to share this one…
Poppies, love it!
